Welcome to Beckenham Cricket Club, north-west Kent's top multi-sports and social club, set in the most beautiful surroundings. Beckenham Cricket Club is actually five separate sports clubs, all united at one club in Beckenham, just twenty minutes from the centre of London. We also have a lively and friendly bar, open seven days a week, with many social events for the "armchair sportsperson". There are five different playing clubs (known as sections) at Beckenham, plus the social section: All of our sections can cater for a wide variety of standards of player, from county level players to the "enthusiast". The cricket section run three senior sides on Saturdays (playing league and cup cricket) and two sides on Sundays (playing "friendlies"), as well as a number of junior sides, catering for players of all abilities. During the summer the club holds its "cricket week", a five day festival of cricket and social functions. The hockey section fields seven mens, four ladies and one mixed side regularly, as well as a wide variety of junior sides. Tours and festivals are regularly organised along with a number of social events. The squash and racketball section has four heated courts where members play club, league and friendly matches, with coaches available for junior and senior members. Racketball is increasingly being played at the club as well. The tennis section can offer eighteen courts: six grass, four floodlit acrylic and eight tarmac (three floodlit). A number of teams play in summer and winter Kent leagues. The running section offer opportunities for both cross-country and road-running, entering various competitions and welcoming runners of all standards. Beckenham Cricket Club is the home of "The Primary Club", the cricket charity so strongly publicised by the late Brian Johnston. The Club used to be the home of the June pre-Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, which traditionally started the British Grass Court Season. Beckenham is very easy to reach from London, or from Kent. From the centre of London there are regular train services to Beckenham Junction (twenty minutes from London Victoria) and to New Beckenham (twenty minutes from Charing Cross/Waterloo East/London Bridge). Both stations are within ten minutes walk of the club. The club is only twenty minutes drive from the M25 (junctions 3, 4 or 6). Beckenham Junction station is also on the Croydon Tramlink.
